Fantasy Basketball: Combing the Wire for Week 1

Looking for a utility player in your line up or a bench piece? Here, let us help you comb the wire for week one of the fantasy basketball season.

Here are ten players to add to your roster for this week.

1. Enes Kanter, New York Knicks: The Turkish big man is owned in under 60% of leagues in all formats. He will play more minutes in New York and get more looks.  If you are looking for a big man, grab him.

2. Trevor Booker, PF, Brooklyn Nets: Booker had more double, doubles than Myles Turner and Jimmy Butler last season. He can score in the paint and he is an above average rebounder.

3. Nikola Mirotic, PF, Chicago Bulls: Mirotic averaged 10.6 point per game last season but expect those numbers to go up with the rebuilding Bulls. Mirotic could average a double, double per game this season.

4. Ryan Anderson, PF, Houston Rockets: Anderson is only owned in 35% of all fantasy formats. That makes no sense? Anderson averaged 13.6 points per game last season. He will get more touches with Chris Paul playing point guard now. Expect Anderson to average three to four more points per game.

5. Corey Joseph, PG, Indiana Pacers: Joseph has escaped Kyle Lowry’s shadow in Toronto now and has an opportunity to thrive with the rebuilding Pacers. Sleeper potential here.

6. C.J Miles, SF, SG, Toronto Raptors: Myles should get big minutes in coach Dwayne Casey’s rotation and should put up quality numbers. Miles versatility makes him an appealing bench piece this week.

7. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, SG, SF, Brooklyn Nets: I am bullish on the Nets this season from a fantasy standpoint. They will not win a lot of games but there several intriguing fantasy options on the roster.

8. Kelly Olynyk, C, Miami Heat: If you are looking for a cheap, short bench piece, give “The Klinic” a look. He should get more looks in Miami and could produce in spurts.

9. Tyson Chandler, C, Phoenix Suns: Chandler offers very little offensively but he will still snag 10-12 boards a game and block 1-3 shots per game. Not bad considering his age. Chandler is only owned in roughly 20% of leagues across all formats so he is cheap.

10. J.J Redick, SG, Philadelphia 76ers: Redick will get plenty of minutes and plenty of open looks. That makes him an appealing weekly fantasy play.
