Fantasy Hockey: Matt Duchene Lands in the Right Place With the Senators

The Matt Duchene saga is over in Colorado after the winger was traded yesterday to the Ottawa Senators as part of a three team deal.

The Senators traded veteran Kyle Turris to the Nashville Predators as part of the deal. Both Ottawa and Nashville traded a package of picks and young players to the Avalanche as part of the deal.

Duchene should slot into the Senators first line and play alongside Mike Hoffman and Mark Stone. After a disappointing 41 point campaign last season, the move could spark Duchene and help him get closer to the player he was during the 2013/14 season when he posted 70 points in 71 games.

Duchene has gotten off to a decent start this season. He has scored four goals and has six assists on the season.

Duchene has been rumored to be on the move now for almost a year. He has landed in good spot. The Senators are a good fit for him and his skill set. He will play with players that can get him the puck in high scoring areas. Duchene is still available in ESPN and Yahoo leagues that I play in. If he is available in yours, consider picking him up. I know I will.
