Fantasy Basketball: Combing the Wire for the Week

Here is this week’s edition of combing the wire in fantasy basketball. As always, there are some quality options available on the waiver wire, especially in deeper leagues.

Donovan Mitchell, PG/SG, Jazz: I told you to grab Mitchell a couple of weeks ago. If you did, good for you. If you didn’t (I didn’t), its too late. Mitchell is worthy of paying for in DFS until he cools off.

Courtney Lee, SG, Knicks: The veteran sharpshooter has been an integral part of the Knicks offense in recent weeks and could be a solid addition if you are looking to add bench scoring. Lee is worth adding in DFS as well, especially if he is playing on a slow night.

Kenneth Faried, PF, Nuggets: With the injury to Paul Milsap, the forgotten Faried will get more of an opportunity to play and capitalize on the additional minutes he is picking up. Faried has the ability to score in bunches which makes him an attractive fantasy option.

Austin Rivers, PG, Clippers: Rivers along with Lou Williams have been the beneficiaries of the injuries to Blake Griffin and Patrick Beverly. The son of the coach has managed to make the most of his increased minutes, especially on the offensive end.

Dwyane Wade, SG, Cavaliers: I drafted Wade, then dropped him and then picked him up again. Wade is starting to get comfortable in Cleveland and he has seen his minutes increase. He is still an effective offensive player and a high volume scorer. Grab him while he is still on the wire. Wade is also worthy of spending a little bit more on in DFS. Until he cools off of course.

Larry Nance Jr, PF, Lakers: Nance is the Lakers best player, at least that is what coach Luke Walton called him. He offers multi-category production and is still available in roughly 30% of all leagues, in all formats. If you need a forward and he is on your wire, grab him ASAP!

Kris Dunn, PG, Bulls: The Bulls are terrible but Dunn has been their best player for the past month. He is averaging 11.8 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game and 4.4 assists per game. Those are solid cross category numbers so go ahead and pick him up.

Alec Burks, SG, Jazz: Burks has been on fire of late and is getting big minutes off of the Jazz bench. He is available in 75% of ESPN leagues so if you play in an ESPN league, grab him! Burks is also worth paying in DFS right now because he is shooting the ball well.

Dario Saric, SF, PF, Sixers: Saric is available in 35% of ESPN leagues. That is absurd! If you he is available in your league, take a flyer on him. He has been on a tear of late.

Rajon Rondo, PG, Pelicans: Rondo is not a scorer but he is a cross category producer so if you are looking for a back up point guard or a spot DFS play, he is worth picking up. Especially on a slow night schedule wise.
