Fantasy Football: Studs and Duds for Week 13

There were once again plenty of studs and duds in the NFL this week. Here are my studs and duds for Week 13.

Studs

Alex Smith, QB, Chiefs: Smith came back from the dead throwing for 366 yards and 4 touchdown passes. Smith also had a 70 yard carry in the game as well. The Chiefs are a mess right now but it appears that Smith may be back.

Tyreek Hill, WR, Chiefs: Hill was doormant for the past five weeks but he busted out in a big way on Sunday catching 6 passes for 185 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Chiefs needed the speedster to regain his form and make big plays and he did.

Rex Burkhead, RB, Patriots: If you were smart enough to pick up Burkhead three weeks ago, good for you. He has become the preferred goal line option for the Patriots and is worthy of flex consideration moving forward. Provided of course, Mike Gillislee stays in the doghouse.

Kenyan Drake, RB, Dolphins: Drake rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. With Damien Williams out, Drake capitalized and has entrenched himself as the running back to own in Miami.

Evan Engram, TE, Giants: Engram caught 7 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown. Engram is the number one option in the Giants passing game and that makes him worthy of starting as either a tight end or a flex.

Duds

Jordan Howard, RB, Bears: It is only a matter of time before the slumping Howard costs someone in the playoffs or even a fantasy championship. It is coming!

Julio Jones, WR, Falcons: Jones followed up his monster performance against the Bucs with a 2 catch, 24 yard performance wimper against the Vikings. Jones has been a bust thus far this season and he reinforced that notion on Sunday.

Tom Brady, QB, patriots: You thought Brady was dud proof but he is actually not. He did not throw a touchdown pass against a team he usually lights up. I am sure thousands of people missed out on the playoffs because of Brady’s egg.

Broncos Receivers: The Broncos are a mess as a whole but their receivers have been a disaster for fantasy owners the past three weeks. Holy crap have they been bad!

Matt Ryan, QB, Falcons: Matty Ice has become Matty Dice. As in dicey! Ryan went 16/29 for 173 yards and no touchdowns against the Vikings. Owners that were counting on Ryan to have a big day and lead them to the playoffs, were left at the alter.
