Rajon Rondo could be a valuable bench piece for owners down the stretch.
The fantasy basketball playoffs start this week. If you are one of the four teams in your standard league that made the playoffs, congratulations. You made the tournament as Bill Parcells once said because you built a solid roster and made some shrewd moves along the way.
At some point however, you will need to make that one or two moves that will put you over the top.
Here is a list of players that could be available on the waiver wire in your league right now that could help you seal the deal.
Kevin Love, PF/C, Cavaliers: Love is scheduled to return next weekend. If he is available in your league and you can afford to stash him, pick him up!
Rajon Rondo, PG, Pelicans: Rondo is only owned in 61% of ESPN standard leagues. He has had a terrific season in New Orleans and has once again become a cross category force. If you are looking for point guard depth, add Rondo to your roster.
Terry Rozier, PG, Celtics: With Kyrie Irving out with a knee injury, Rozier is getting big minutes and he is making them count. Rozier is only owned in 50% of leagues across all fantasy formats. If you need a point guard to come off your bench, you should consider adding Rozier.
Michael Beasley, SF/PF, Knicks: Beasley is only owned in 38% of standard ESPN leagues. He can be streaky but if you are in need of an additional scorer who can play two positions, Beasley is worth taking a flyer on this time of year.
Dwight Powell, PF/C, Mavericks: It’s hard to find productive big men on the wire this time of year. Powell has been a nice run for the Mavericks over the past month. He offers quality cross category production and plays big minutes. I have added Powell to my DFS line up the past two weeks and he has been a solid producer for me.
Dejounte Murray, PG/SG, Spurs: The combo guard has been inconsistent at times but he is capable of filling up the score sheet. Murray would be a worthwhile in both standard leagues and DFS.
David Nwaba, SG/SF, Bulls: The combo guard, forward has seen an uptick in minutes thanks to the Bulls recent run of injuries. While Nwaba isn’t a scorer per say, he is a solid rebounder and defender. He has scored double digit fantasy points in four of his last five games and is worthy of consideration in deeper leagues.
Corey Brewer, SF, Thunder: Brewer has been a fantasy revelation in the past week scoring double digit fantasy points in five straight games. He has filled in nicely for the injured Andre Roberson and is averaging 30 minutes a game. Forget deeper leagues. Brewer is worth adding in any league right now. He is playing exceptionally well.
Markiff Morris, PF, Wizards: Morris has been on fire of late. He scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds against the Celtics on Wednesday. In his last five games, Morris has averaged 18.8 fantasy points per contest. He has quietly had a great season and while DFS players have taken advantage of his production, standard players have not.
