I decided to focus on the 1:05 starts today. I like the match ups better than I do in the later games.
Here is how I spent my $50,000.
P: Jose Quintana (Cubs) vs. Marlins ($11,700): Despite having their hands full against the Marlins in this series, I like Quintana today. He should have success against the righty heavy Marlins line up.
P: Michael Fulmer (Tigers) vs. Pirates ($7,800): Fulmer cost me a pretty penny but I expect a quality first start from the Tigers defacto ace against the free swinging Pirates.
C: Robinson Chirnos (Rangers) vs. Astros ($3,000): Chirnos is a cheap alternative at home against the Rangers. He is a power hitting catcher who could go yard in the band box that is Globe Life Park.
1B: Matt Davidson (White Sox) vs. Royals ($4,000): Davidson has lit up Royals pitching in this series and I am expecting him to continue to rake today.
2B: Taylor Wade (Yankees) vs. Blue Jays ($3,200): Wade is pricey but he has hit in this series and the Yankees have dominated Blue Jays pitching thus far.
3B: Mike Moustakas (Royals) vs. White Sox ($4,100): Give me Moose all day against hard throwing Reynaldo Lopez. Lopez has a tendency to give up the long ball and Moose is due.
SS: Yangervis Solarte (Blue Jays) vs. Yankees ($2,700): Solarte homered yesterday and has terrific upside because he can play short, second or third base.
OF: Jay Bruce (Mets) vs. Cardinals ($4,200): Bruce went 0-5 yesterday but I expect the free swinging Texan to get back on track today against young Luke Weaver.
OF: Jose Martinez (Cardinals) vs. Mets ($3,900): Martinez is off to a great start and a match up against soft throwing Steven Matz is really appealing.
OF: Giancarlo Stanton (Yankees) vs. Blue Jays ($5,200): Five grand is a small price to pay for a guy like Stanton. Especially when he’s playing at Toronto.
