I am focusing on the 7:05 starts tonight. I like a lot of the early game match ups. Here is my line up for this evening.
P: Justin Verlander, Astros ($11,600) vs. Orioles: Verlander at home against the struggling Orioles is a no brainer despite the cost.
P: Kyle Freeland, Rockies ($8,200) vs. Padres: I will take most quality starters at Petco against the Padres top heavy line up. Freeland is a no brainer.
C: Brian McCann, Astros ($3,700) vs. Orioles: McCann is an affordable power source against Mike Wright who has struggled against left handed hitters in his career.
1B: Cody Bellinger, Dodgers ($4,100) vs. Diamondbacks: Bellinger absolutely rakes at Chase Field. He went 4 for 7 last night. He is a solid play at a good price.
2B: Chris Owings, Diamondbacks ($3,200) vs. Dodgers: The versatile Owings hit a three run homer last night against the Dodgers. Owings is swinging a hot bat right now, so now is the time to pick him up.
3B: Todd Frazier, Mets ($3,700) vs. Phillies: The Todd Father is swinging a hot bat early on. I really like him in this series against a suspect Phillies rotation. Strikeouts are always a concern with Frazier.
SS: Paul DeJong, Cardinals ($3,700) vs. Brewers: DeJong has homered in his last two games and has absolutely croaked Brewers pitching in the past. Chase Anderson is a tough lefty however which makes this a tough match up.
OF: Bryce Harper, Nationals ($5,300) vs. Braves: Harper has abused Atlanta pitching in his career especially of late. He loves hitting at SunTrust Park.
OF: Tyler Naquin, Indians ($3,000) vs. Angels: Naquin homered last night for a Tribe team that has won 12 straight versus the Angels.
OF: Tommy Pham, Cardinals ($3,500) vs. Brewers: Pham has the power, speed potential you want in DFS. The Cardinals and Brewers always seem to end up in slugfests when they play each other in Milwaukee. Pham is worth picking up for that reason.
