Daily Fantasy: Baseball Line Up of the Day

It is a one o’clock heavy slate of games today so I decided to play a classic line up. Here is how I spent my $50,000 dollars. I was tempted to overspend on pitching because the match ups are so good but I didn’t.

P: Carlos Martinez, Cardinals at Reds ($9,900): I love that Martinez is facing the Reds but I am scared to death that he is pitching at the Great American Small Park which is a launching pad.

P: Shohei Ohtani, Angels at Royals ($11,000): 11K straight up is a big commitment but “The Shoh” has been unhittable and he is facing the weak hitting Royals.

C: Christian Vasquez, Red Sox vs. Orioles ($3,300): I had to cut corners somewhere.

1B: Carlos Santana, Phillies at Rays ($4,100): Give me the switch hitting Santana against that putrid Rays rotation at the Trop any day of the week. I’ll take it! The Phils have been ruining bad pitching all week.

2B: Matt Carpenter, Cardinals at Reds ($3,500): Carpenter is off to a slow start but he’s cheap and playing in Cincy cures all ills thanks to bad pitching and a small ballpark.

3B: Colin Moran, Pirates at Marlins ($3,300): Moran is a cheap source of points. Facing the wildly inconsistent Jose Urena helps.

SS: Dansby Swanson, Braves at Cubs ($3,300): Swanson is hitting .357 on the season and has an OPS of 960. After a tough 2017 season, Swanson has turned things around is playing up to his potential. He has a good match up against Tyler Chatwood.

OF: Corey Dickerson, Pirates at Marlins ($4,000): Dickerson is a cheap, productive outfield option. The power numbers won’t always be there but he gets on base and produces points in other ways.

OF: Nick Markakis, Braves at Cubs ($3,200): Markakis is off to a good start hitting .298 with 2 home runs and 9 RBI. He has been a fast starter in April in his career and this month is no different. I am all about the match up with Chatwood today. The Braves should have a good day at the plate.

OF: Marcel Ozuna, Cardinals at Reds ($4,000): Ozuna is off to a tough start offensively but I needed a cheap outfield option and the match up with Cincinnati made him appealing.
