There are several intriguing match ups on this weekend’s slate. Here is my line up for tonight and how I spent my $50,000.
All values based on draftkings.com values.
P: Felix Hernandez, Mariners at Rangers ($6,800): Hernandez has made more starts against the Rangers in his career than any other team. Texas is struggling mightily right now offensively so if there was ever a good time to play King Felix, now is the time.
P: Jakob Junis, Royals At Tigers ($8,300): Detroit has won four in a row and they are starting to heat up offensively but something tells me Junis will frustrate their free swinging line up tonight. He got hit around in his last start against the Angels but I expect Junis to bounce back tonight.
C: Yadier Molina, Cardinals vs. Reds ($3,800): Yady has cooled off of late but a prime match up against Brandon Finnegan and the Reds at home makes him an appealing play tonight.
1B: Yuli Gurriel, Astros at White Sox ($4,100): Gurriel is picking up right where he left off at the end of last season. He is only hitting .250 but he is a cross category producer who always finds himself on the score sheet.
2B: Jonathan Villar, Brewers vs. Marlins ($3,500): Villar has quietly bounced back after a dismal 2017 season. The power numbers are meh but Villar is a singles and doubles hitter who will swipe the occasional bag. He is still a table setter for the Brew Crew at the top of their line up.
3B: Rafael Devers, Red Sox at A’s ($4,000): The young third basemen is off to a great start averaging 9.3 point per game in DFS. I like the match up for Devers against the struggling Kendall Graveman.
SS: Andrelton Simmons, Angels vs. Giants ($3,600): Simmons is a consistent cross category producer and I love the match up tonight against Jeff Samardzija who is returning from the DL. The Angels got thumped in three games against the Red Sox so I am sure Simmons and company are glad to see Boston leave town.
OF: Mookie Betts, Red Sox at A’s: Betts is the hottest player in baseball right now at the plate. Your darn right I am going to play him in a match up against Kendall Graveman. Even at cavernous Oakland Alameda Coliseum.
OF: Tommy Pham, Cardinals vs. Reds: I’m team Pham now. I’ve come around on him. He hits for power and swipes bags. Pham is just a constant point producer.
OF: Christian Yelich, Brewers vs. Marlins ($4,700): Yelich was a guy a doubles hitter in Miami who can get on base consistently and swipe a couple of bags. Now he fancies himself a power hitter. He will be looking to prove that he could do more than he did with the Marlins this weekend. I like that.
