I decided to switch things up and went with a showdown game tonight between the Padres and the Dodgers. The series is being played in Monterrey, Mexico.
Here are the six players I chose. I had $3,200 dollars left over.
1. Franchy Cordero, OF, Padres ($8,900): Cordero has six bombs on the season and has been a pleasant surprise for the Dads thus far. The thin air in Monterrey should help a guy with raw power like Cordero.
2.,Yasmani Grandal, C, Dodgers ($8,100): Grandal has started to slow down a bit from the pace he was hitting at two weeks ago but he is still raking enough that he is worthy of playing in a match up like.
3. Eric Hosmer, 1B, Padres ($9,300): Hosmer has finally found his stride at the plate. While he isn’t exactly been “piling” up the numbers, he’s still hitting over .300 and is averaging 8.4 points per game in DFS.
4. Kenley Jansen, P, Dodgers, ($2,900): Joey Lucchesi and Walker Buehler were too pricey for my taste so I took the next available pitcher in Jansen for short money.
5. Matt Kemp, OF, Dodgers, ($7,400): Kemp has really slowed down at the plate lately but given the fact that this series is being played in Mexico, it makes sense to play him and hope he runs into one tonight for a home run.
6. Christian Villanueva, 3B, Padres, ($10,200): I’m banking on Villanueva being fired up about coming back home and tearing the cover off the ball. He’s had a great season thus far.
