Happy Memorial Day to all the DFS fans out there. Remember. It’s not about the cookouts and the drinking. It’s about honoring those who died for our country.
Here’s how I spent my $50,000 on Draft Kings.
P: Gio Gonzalez, Nationals at Orioles ($10,000): Gonzo against the free swinging Orioles appeals to me. The Nats are rolling and I expect Gonzalez to keep it going today.
P: Adam Plutko, Indians vs. White Sox ($7,200): The steal of the day in DFS. Plutko has been very good through his first two starts and he is averaging 22 points per start. The White Sox are a nice match up.
C: Devin Mesoraco, Mets at Braves ($3,500): I’m buying into Mesoraco and his power against Max Fried with this pick.
1B: Joey Votto, Reds at D-Backs ($4,300): Votto is starting to heat up and a series at the desert against the struggling Diamondbacks is just what he needs to stay hot.
2B: Whitt Merrifield, Royals vs. Twins ($4,700): Merrifield and Mike Moustakas are the only Royals worth playing right now. Lance Lynn has struggled this season so the match up is right.
3B: Alex Bregman, Astros at Yankees ($4,200): Bregman is starting to hit and so are the rest of the Astros. Going up against Domingo Germain is a plus.
SS: Andrelton Simmons, Angels at Tigers ($3,700): Simmons hit the ball well over the weekend and I expect him to keep it up in this series.
OF: Matt Adams, Nationals at Orioles ($4,300): Alex Cobb has been throwing BP thus far this season which plays right into Adams left handed stroke. Adams can hit the ball to all fields, consistently.
OF: Michael Brantley, Indians vs. White Sox ($4,500): I’m banking on Brantley and the Indians bats getting to young Dylan Covey early. Brantley has been terrific in regards to plate discipline and getting into favorable counts. He should take advantage of this match up.
OF: David Peralta, Diamondbacks vs. Reds ($3,600): Peralta is one of the few Diamondbacks who is hitting so why not.
