Jesse Winker is a worthwhile add if you are looking for outfield depth.
Here are ten free agents you should target in your fantasy league this week.
1. Jesse Winker, OF, Reds: Winker has been on fire since the beginning of June. The power numbers are not ideal but he is a good all around hitter who hits singles, doubles and gets on base.
2. Avisail Garcia, OF White Sox: Garcia is back from the D.L. He provides power to a line up but also draws walks. He is currently available in 50% of yahoo leagues and 51% of ESPN leagues.
3. Jason Hayward, OF, Cubs: Hayward is hitting .286 with 6 home runs and 43 RBI. The power numbers are not good but he’s making solid contact and getting on base. He is averaging 2.6 points per game in standard scoring and 7.2 ppg in Draft Kings scoring. Hayward is available in 72% of ESPN leagues 70% of yahoo leagues.
4. Kirby Yates, RP, Padres: With Brad Hand dealt to Cleveland, Yates takes over as the closer in San Diego. He will be the guy to get the ball in the ninth and is a worthy add if you are looking for a bullpen arm.
5. Dereck Rodriguez, SP, Giants: It is hard to find starting pitching on the waiver wire this time of year, especially in deeper leagues. Rodriguez has pitched well for the Giants this season boasting a 2.72 ERA with 42 strikeouts. He is still available in 74% of yahoo leagues and 76% of ESPN leagues.
6. Carlos Gonzalez, OF,Rockies: Gonzo is back! Sort of. Gonzalez has rediscovered his power stroke again, especially at home. He is still relatively available in ten team standard leagues in both yahoo and ESPN. If he is, Gonzalez would be a worthy pick up.
7. Nick Kingham, SP, Pirates: The Pirates have won ten straight and Kingham has made three quality starts during that stretch. Starting pitching is thin on the wire. If you are looking for another serviceable starter to get you 15-20 points per start, Kingham is that guy.
8. Zack Wheeler, SP, Mets: It’s all about the strikeouts with Wheeler. He piles them and gets points regardless of how many runs he gives up.
9. Zach Britton, RP, Orioles: Britton is owned in 63% of yahoo leagues and 46% of ESPN leagues. He is on the brink of being traded and depending on where he ends up, could become a valuable bullpen piece both in fantasy and reality.
10. Robinson Cano, 2B, Mariners: Cano is a stash candidate. He is scheduled to be reinstated by the second week of August. Now might be a good time to pick him and stick him on your bench.
