Fantasy Football: Corey Coleman Could Realize His Potential in Buffalo But It Is A Long Shot

The Buffalo Bills acquired wide receiver Corey Coleman from the Cleveland Browns for a 2020 seventh round pick.

Cleveland was clearly looking to dump Coleman and found a willing partner in the Bills. The 2016 first rounder out of Baylor has been a huge disappointment thus far in his career.

Thanks to a litany of injuries and an inability to run a full route tree, Coleman failed in produce in Cleveland. In his defense, he didn’t exactly play with starting caliber quarterbacks in Cleveland either.

Coleman will get an opportunity to play the Z position or flanker receiver in Buffalo. He will be used primarily in 21, 20 and 11 personnel groupings. Coleman could be a nice compliment to Kelvin Benjamin and Zay Jones if he stays on the field. He gives the Bills receiving corp a vertical threat, something they sorely lack.

From a fantasy standpoint, I wouldn’t get too excited about Coleman. At the most, he ends up the third receiver. From a drafting standpoint, I wouldn’t touch him in a ten team league. I would consider drafting him in the back end of a 12 team PPR league. You would be banking on him realizing his potential but it’s a long shot.
