There are some affordable pitching match ups on the docket for tonight. Here is how spent our $50,000.
P: German Marquez, Rockies vs. Giants ($9,300): Marquez struck out a career high 13 batters in his last start against the Padres. The ERA is still high but Marquez’s strikeouts have gone up and he’s been terrific of late.
P: Mike Minor, Rangers vs. Angels ($7,700): Minor has been one of the few bright spots for the Rangers this season. He has been tough on right handed hitters and he faces alone up tonight in the Angels that is predominantly right handed.
C: Tucker Barnhardt, Reds at Pirates ($3,700): Barnhardt has been better at home but he is swinging a hot bat right now. He is a quality buy in DFS.
1B: Kendrys Morales, Blue Jays vs. Rays: Morales was out of the line up last night but he’s back in it tonight and has a favorable match up against the soft throwing Ryan Stanek.
2B: Roughned Odor, Rangers vs. Angels ($4,300): Odor is swinging such a hot bat right now that it doesn’t matter that he is facing a lefty in Andrew Heaney.
3B: Todd Frazier, Mets at Dodgers ($4,300): The Todd Father is the face of the Mets second half resurgence. He’s been one of the best hitters in the game the last two weeks.
SS: Willy Adames, Rays at Blue Jays ($3,800): Adames has been a catalyst for the Rays at the top of their line up. He finds a way to get on base and he’ll swipe the occasional bag. A worthy play in DFS.
OF: Bryce Harper, Nationals vs. Cardinals ($4,800): I don’t care about the strikeouts. I like Harper at home against a guy like John Gant who is wild and struggles to locate.
OF: Mark Canha, A’s vs. Yankees ($3,400): Canha homered yesterday. He’s a great value play tonight as a right handed bat against J.A Happ.
OF: Rhys Hoskins, Phillies at Marlins ($4,300): I have no respect for the Marlins starting rotation. That’s why I always pick hitters that are facing them. I’m willing to put up with Hoskins striking out because eventually he’ll get a hold of one.
