1. Improves the Pass Rush: The Bears pass rush already had potential with Leonard Floyd coming off the edge but now you add the best defensive player in the league and what was an inconsistent pass rush all of a sudden becomes one of the best in the NFL. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio will all kinds of fun letting Mack loose out of his 3-4 defense.
2. Disrupts the Running Game: Mack is the best edge defender in the NFL. He gets off the ball quickly and has strong hands that allow him to stone defenders and control gaps. Mack is a terrific tackler who makes hard contact and finishes. Mack also has a knack for generating turnovers. He will be a game wrecker for the Bears.
3. Great Scheme Fit: Mack is terrific fit in the 3-4. The scheme is flexible and it allows him to line up in different places and play multiple roles. Vic Fangio is a disciple of Steve Sidwell and Dom Capers. Rest assured, he will have a variety of pressures in place that take advantage of Mack’s skill set.
Mack is an elite level talent and worth the price the Bears paid to acquire him. He will make an immediate impact for a defense that was one player away from being good. The Bears defense has enough talent to bed a top ten unit in fantasy this season.
