The Los Angeles Kings traded forward Tyler Toffoli to the division rival Vancouver Canucks for forwards Tim Schiller, Tim Madden a 2020 second round pick and a 2022 fourth round pick.
It is a steep price to pay but with Brock Boeser our for three weeks, the Canucks needed to make a move so they traded Toffoli.
Toffoli is hot of late. He had a hat trick on Saturday night in the Kings 3-1 win over the Avalanche. He has 18 goals and 16 assists on the season. He averages 16:38 minutes of ice time per game.
With Boeser out, Toffoli should have no problem craving out a top six role and seeing time on the number one power play unit.
The Canucks are in the thick of it both in the Pacific Division race and the Western Conference playoff picture. Toffoli’s addition will ensure they stay in the race.
