Daily Fantasy: Baseball Line Up of the Day

Julio Teheran has quietly had a good bounce back season and has been a terrific DFS value.

Here is how we spent our $50,000 on Draft Kings today. We are going with a classic line up but are focusing on the night games.

P: Aaron Nola, Phillies vs. Padres ($9,800): Nola struggled in his last start but he has a great match up against a Padres line up that is the worst in baseball offensively despite their recent success.

P: Julio Teheran, Braves vs. Brewers ($7,600): Teheran has quietly had a good season. He’s got a tricky but potentially good match up against a Brewers line up that strikes out a lot but also has a ton of power.

C: Jorge Alfaro, Phillies vs. Padres ($3,600): Alfaro has been a good hitter at home all season long. He’s averaging 5.4 points per game in DFS and has a solid match up against Padres starter Walker Lockett.

1B: Jose Martinez, Cardinals at Royals ($4,100): The match up against Danny Duffy might not be ideal but Martinez is a good all around hitter who offers solid cross category potential.

2B: D.J LeMahieu, Rockies vs. Dodgers ($3,800): LeMahieu has hit the ball better at home than on the road. LeMahieu is primarily a singles and doubles hitter but he has shown good power this season so he offers good value despite facing a tough match up against Walker Buehler.

3B: Justin Turner, Dodgers at Rockies ($4,200): Turner had been scuffling recently but he’s turned things around in the past week. He’s starting to get hot and he has always hit the ball well at Coors Field.

SS: Marwin Gonzalez, Astros vs. Mariners ($3,900): Gonzalez is heating up at the right time after a sluggish first five months to the season. Gonzalez hit two home runs against the Mariners last week in Seattle. One of those was off of tonight’s starter Wade LrBlanc. The match up is right.

OF: Nelson Cruz, Mariners at Astros ($3,900): Cruz hits off speed pitches well and he’s facing an off-speed specialist in Charlie Morton. Morton is filthy but if Cruz can stay ahead of the count and force Morton to throw something over the plate, he could get something to hit.

OF: Starling Marte, Pirates at Giants (4,600): I don’t like that Marte is playing at AT&T Park but I like the fact that he is facing lefty Ty Blach.

OF: Mark Trumbo, Orioles vs. Red Sox ($4,300): Trumbo has been terrific the past six weeks. He had a quality match Red Sox starter/reliever Hector Velasquez in game two of a double header.
