Zack Godley has struggled of late but he has a quality road match up in San Francisco tonight.
Today is a good daily fantasy day thanks in large part to some quality starting pitching options and some terrific hitter match ups.
Here is how I spent my $50,000 on Draft Kings today.
P: Miles Mikolas, Cardinals vs. Pirates ($7,800): Mikolas has been a quality DFS start all season long and he’s got a great home match up against the struggling Pirates today.
P: Zack Godley, D-Backs at Giants ($8,600): Godley has struggled in his last two starts against the Mariners and Padres but he has a nice road match up in San Francisco against a Giants offense that has really struggled of late.
C: Austin Hedges, Padres vs. Mariners ($3,500): Hedges does not hit for average and doesn’t get on base much. He does hit for power however and has a good match up against Erasmo Ramirez.
1B: Freddie Freeman, Braves vs. Rays ($4,800): Freeman has driven at last one run in 10 of his last 11 games. He only has one run in that span but he is still driving in runs.
2B: Brian Dozier, Dodgers at Rangers ($4,400): Dozier homered last night and despite a tough match up against Mike Minor, I like his chance to homer again. He’s playing in Texas. Globe Life Park is a launching pad this time of year.
3B: Mike Moustakas, Brewers at Reds ($4,600): Drafting a left handed hitter at Great American Ballpark is a sound investment most nights in DFS.
SS: Nick Ahmed, D-Backs at Giants ($3,700): Ahmed is streaky but I like the power he brings to the table and his ability to get on base as a singles and doubles hitter makes him very appealing at AT&T Park.
OF: Lorenzo Cain, Brewers at Reds ($4,500): Cain is one of the few guys that has hit the ball well during this Brewers dry spell. The power numbers aren’t there but he is a better all around hitter this season. Lock him down for tonight.
OF: Nick Markakis, Braves vs. Rays ($4,300): Still a tremendous DFS value offensively. You’ll get your money’s worth tonight with Markakis. Especially because the Rays are opening with their bullpen.
OF: Randal Grichuk, Blue Jays at Orioles ($4,300): Grichuk went 4 for 5 with a solo homer and two runs batted last night. Tonight he faces Alex Cobb, who has been good but is still prone to the long ball. Grichuk is an affordable, productive option.
