Fantasy Football: NFL DFS Main Slate: Week 5

By: Jared Leonard | @JaredLeonard77

It is week 5 and we’re going to give you the plays to cash in DFS this week. This week we are sticking to our long term plan. I got cute last week and paid up at tight end (Gronk). Well, that didn’t work out so well for me. Hopefully none of you made the same mistake. Next time I suggest paying up on tight end, pleases slap me. Now, let’s look at our picks for this week and let’s win some coin.

Quarterbacks:

I’m not paying for a high price QB this week. Although the matchups are favorable for those high price QBs, the mid-range to cheaper QBs are where I’m going. Stafford and Newton are two players that I want to get into my lineups. My favorite value play of the week is Russell Wilson, he’s perfect for large tournaments.

Philip Rivers

Matt Ryan

Ben Roethlisberger

Kirk Cousins

Matt Stafford

Cam Newton

Alex Smith

Andy Dalton

Russell Wilson

Running Backs:

This where I’m paying up this week. I want to get two studs in my running back positions and another running back in my flex. Any combination of these top backs should pay of for you. Two guys on the list that I’m not high on but have great matchups, are James Conner and Mart Breida. The Steelers haven’t showed any commitment to the run and San Fran’s offense is due to struggle with Beatherd at QB. My favorite cheap play this week is Aaron Jones, Detroit struggles to stop the run and I expect Jones to see a significant amount of carries.

Melvin Gordon

Sequon Barkley

Marshawn Lynch

Christian McCaffrey

James Conner

David Johnson

Mark Ingram

Aaron Jones

Joe Mixon

Matt Breida

Wide Receivers:

There are a lot of options at wide receiver this week. However, if you’re paying up at running back this week, I suggest getting 1 stud and pair them up with some quality cheaper options. But mix and match and find the best lineup combination that fits your style. My favorite cheap plays of the week is Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Jordy Nelson. Marquez could see a lot of targets with Cobb out and Adams and Allison not at 100%. Jordy has become a bigger part of the Raider offense and Carr is really starting to trust him. Plus, the matchup is favorable. I also really like Doug Baldwin at a very affordable price, it’s only a matter of time before Baldwin starts producing big numbers.

Antonio Brown

Julio Jones

Adam Thielen

JuJu Smith-Schuster

Emmanuel Sanders

Stefon Diggs

Cooper Kupp

Alshon Jeffery

Calvin Ridley

Demaryius Thomas

Nelson Agholor

Doug Baldwin

Dede Westbrook

Marvin Jones

Jordy Nelson

Mohamed Sanu

Marquez Valdes-Scantling

Tight Ends:

I’m paying down, period. Tight Ends that I’m targeting: Austin Hooper, Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Vance McDonald, and Ricky Seals-Jones. Here are the plays that I like at this position.

Zach Ertz

Ricky Seals-Jones

Austin Hooper

Austin Seferian-Jenkins

Jared Cook

Vance McDonald

Defense:

There are not many defenses that I like this week. The 2 that I’m targeting, are: Carolina and Cincinnati. Both are at home and have favorable matchups. I always prefer to get a defense at home, rather than on the road. Regardless of how good the defense can be.

Carolina

Cincinnati

Tennessee

Rams

Seattle

Detroit
