With the trade deadline fast approaching this afternoon, we thought it would be fun to look at five players that could be dealt and the possible landing spots for them.
Le’Veon Bell- A Bell trade would have a double impact for fantasy. Not only does this change the impact for Bell’s value, but it has a huge impact for Conner’s value. A Bell trade would be excellent for owners of Bell and Conner. If you own both, you now have two number one running backs. Now let’s look at the landing spots for Bell.
New York Jets- This move creates challenges right away for Bell. It is a downgrade at O-Line and Quarterback. However, if Bell were traded to the Jets, I could see huge production from him in the passing game.
Philadelphia Eagles- This would be a tremendous move for Bell. The Eagles have a good O-Line and a great Quarterback. Adding Bell to this offense, which needs a running back, would instantly make Philadelphia a favorite out of the NFC.
Oakland Raiders- This one is a long shot. But, the Raiders have plenty of draft capital to make a trade and are in need of a running back moving forward. It would be a downgrade at QB for Bell, but the Raiders O-Line is one of the best in the league.
Green Bay Packers- Wow! Imagine Bell paired up with Rodgers, what an impact offense that would be. Bell would put up huge numbers in Green Bay with Rodgers calling the plays and a great O-Line to play behind. Let’s just hope McCarthy doesn’t screw it up if it happens
San Francisco 49ers- They need a real running back, the guys on their roster now are role players. If they could get Bell long term, it would be huge for Jimmy G. Plus, the 49ers have a great O-Line and Bell would look good running behind it.
Demaryius Thomas- His best years are behind him, but he could be a great compliment for teams looking for a number two wide receiver. Plus, a Thomas trade would greatly increase Courtland Sutton’s value. Here are the landing spots we could see for Thomas.
New England Patriots- The Patriots are supposedly in the market for another wide out. Thomas would be a good fit and would get a huge upgrade at Quarterback.
Indianapolis Colts- The Colts could use another wide receiver to pair with T.Y. Hilton. Thomas would be a great option and the move would not only increase his value, but would increase T.Y.’s value too. Huge upgrade at QB for Thomas with this trade.
Houston Texans- Now with Fuller out for the season, wide receiver is a position of need for Houston. Thomas would fit in great with this offense and Watson’s big arm.
Washington Redskins- Surprisingly, the Skins are in first place. If they want to stay there, they need to improve their offense. The wide receiver position is non existent in this offense and Thomas would become a target monster if traded to Washington.
Derek Carr- I think it is highly unlikely that Carr gets traded, but there are a few contending teams that need a QB and the Raiders are looking to rebuild. These are the teams that could target Carr.
Jacksonville Jaguars- Blake Bortles is too inconsistent and has hurt this team significantly this year. This move would be a huge plus for Carr and would make Jacksonville significantly better.
Tennessee Titans- Mariota is awful and I can’t imagine how much better this team would be with a legit QB. This move would be great for Carr, but it would also greatly increase the fantasy value of the rest of the offensive players in Tennessee.
DeVante Parker- Parker has had a very up and down career. He’s had a lot of issues with health and consistency. However, he has tremendous skill and could be a great addition for teams looking for a compliment wide receiver. Let’s look at some possible spots for Parker.
Indianapolis Colts- This could be a nice move for the Colts. If Parker can stay on the field, he should put up nice numbers with Luck as his QB and it could make Parker a borderline number three fantasy receiver. This move would also help Hilton’s value as well.
Houston Texans- In need of a wide receiver, Parker would make a nice option on the other side of Hopkins. Watson’s big arm would give Parker the ability to become a nice down the field threat and would see a lot of single coverage.
Golden Tate- Tate is a great possession receiver and is a guy that could really provide security for an offense looking for an impact wide receiver. Here are some teams that I could see targeting Tate in a trade.
New England Patriots- There has already been rumors of Tate being traded to the Patriots. I like the potential of this landing spot for Tate but I also get worried that he could be non existent some weeks in the loaded New England offense.
Washington Redskins- If Tate was traded to Washington, he would see a huge uptick in targets. With the extra targets, it could make Tate a borderline number one receiver in PPR. This move could also increase Jordan Reed’s value.
Indianapolis Colts- Andrew Luck + T.Y. Hilton + Golden Tate = awesome passing game offense. I love this move for Tate and think it would be the best landing spot for him. This move will make everyone in this offense better.
