I went with a showdown captain mode line up tonight. The Utah Jazz are visiting the Denver Nuggets in what could a high scoring affair.
Utah has played well of late and they are making alate surge up the standings in the Western conference. The Jazz are currently the sixth seed while the Nuggets are the two seed. There are playoff implications for both teams in this game.
Here is our line up for this game tonight.
C Nikola Jokic, Nuggets ($18,300) CAPT.
SF/PF Jae Crowder, Jazz ($4,800)
SG/SF Will Barton, Nuggets ($6,200)
PF/C Derrick Favors, Jazz, ($5,400)
SG Gary Harris, Nuggets ($5,000)
PG/SG Donovan Mitchell ($9,800)
Line up thoughts: Grabbing Nikola Jokic as the Captain is a no brainer. He is a guaranteed double, double despite having to deal with Jazz center Rudy Goebert in the paint. Gary Harris and Will Barton have battled injuries and have been inconsistent this season. That being said, I like the match up against the Jazz undersized backcourt.
For the Jazz, I went with Jae Crowder who has played well recently, averaging 17 points in his last three games. After getting off to a slow start, Donovan Mitchell is starting to heat up, especially since the all-star break. Mitchell has averaged 30.6 points per game in his last five games. Derrick Favors has had a double, double in three of his last five games and is a solid cross category producer.
