Fantasy Baseball: 9 starting pitchers that could help you win your league

We all know that a strong starting rotation can help you win a championship in fantasy and reality. We also know that not every team has an ace. Here are nine pitchers that could help you win your league that are not aces

Patrick Corbin, Nationals: Corbin signed a six year, $140 million dollar deal with the Nationals this off season. Corbin is the Nationals number three starter on paper but he could easily slot behind Max Scherzer as the number two starter. Corbin has won 25 games in the past two seasons. If he gets consistent run support, he can easily 14-17 games this season. His numbers should improve in Washington.

Walker Buehler, Dodgers:Buehler has taken over the ace of the Dodgers staff with Clayton Kershaw nursing a shoulder injury. Buehler has terrific stuff and command. He does a great job of mixing up his fastball and his off speed pitches. Buehler went 9-5 last season but he can easily win 12 to 16 games this season as the Dodgers number two starter.

Trevor Bauer, Indians: The eccentric Bauer has emerged as one of the best pitchers in the American League and can easily spearhead a rotation in fantasy baseball. Bauer has won 52 games in the last four years and has a career ERA under 4.00 in his career. Bauer is a terrific mid round addition in ten team leagues, especially if you are focusing more on your line up.

Jack Flaherty, Cardinals: Flaherty is emerging as the Cardinals best starter. He has plus stuff and has struck out 10.8 batters per nine. Flaherty does have a tendency to give up home runs. He gave up 20 of them last season. If he can keep the hall in the park, he can be your second starter.

James Paxton, Yankees: The move to the Bronx will help Paxton because his stuff will work at Yankees Stadium and he will get great run support. Paxton’s ADP won’t be what it was last season but he could be a great mid round value.

Jhoulys Chacin, Brewers: Guess how many games Chaucin won last season? It’s more than you think. Try 15. Chaucin went 15-8 with a 3.50. Chaucin will not pile up the strikeouts but he pitches a lot of innings

Sonny Gray, Reds: The change of scenery should benefit Gray, especially because he is reuniting with former Vanderbilt pitching coach Derek Johnson. The stuff has always been there Gray. If he just be consistent and get run support, he could be a solid fourth or fifth starter in your fantasy rotation.

Jose Berrios, Twins: Berrios is a number one starter in a fantasy rotation in my opinion. He went 12-11 last season but he made 32 starts and struck out 9.5 batters per nine innings. Strikeout pitchers always do well in fantasy so draft Berrios as a top two starter in your rotation.

Carlos Rodon, White Sox: Rondon was terrific in August and September last season and looked like a legit front of the rotation starter. He pounds the inner half of the strike zone with his fastball and has a terrific curveball. Rodon can be a solid point producer in fantasy baseball.
