Here are nightly plays for tonight in MLB, the NBA and NHL Playoffs. It is a stacked line up tonight and there are a lot of great plays both in terms of moneylines, parlays and O/U’s. Remember, we use DraftKings for all of our betting needs so this is based on their format.
MLB
Cincinnati Reds at Pittsburgh Pirates
Play: Under 8.5 Runs total
Why? The Pirates offense has been good this season but so has the Reds pitching. With Graham Ashcroft and Mitch Keller both starting tonight, I am taking the under in this one. I think both will pitch into the sixth tonight and keep the combined total of this one under 8.5 runs.
Miami Marlins at Cleveland Guardians
Play: Marlins +105
Why? Zach Plesac has not been good for Cleveland thus far this season and he has been one of the most inconsistent starters in baseball the past two years. Factor in a ballpark in Progressive Field where the ball flies out of the park at night and I like Marlins and the pop in their line-up to win tonight as a road underdog.
Oakland A’s at Texas Rangers
Play: Over 8.5 Runs
Why? The Rangers are raking right now offensively and have one of the top offenses in all of baseball. The A’s rotation has struggled this season posting a major league worse 7.71 ERA. Texas conversely has scored the third most runs in baseball with 112. Combined, these two teams should easily score 9 runs plus.
Kansas City Royals at Los Angeles Angels
Play: I Pitch, You Hit (L.A Angels Win, Shohei Ohtani 7+ strikeouts, Mike Trout 1+Hit, 1+ RBI)
Why?: The Royals have lost six straight and are back to stinking up the joint. The Angels held their own on a recent road trip and come home with Ohtani starting after an abbreviated start in Boston on Monday. Kansas City has a free swing line up so Ohtani should easily manage seven strikeouts. The question is, will Trout get one or more hits and drive in one or more runs? i am betting he will.
NBA
Boston Celtics at Atlanta Hawks
Play: Over 228.5
Why?: Because Atlanta’s defense stinks and the Celtics have been able to do whatever they want offensively through two games. Sure, it is a lazy play but a simple one guaranteed to make some cash tonight.
Denver Nuggets at Minnesota Timberwolves
Play: T-Wolves +115
Why?: Minnesota’s backs are against the wall and I think they will come out firing tonight. I expect their stars to finally sack up and show up. Minnesota played better in Wednesday’s 122-113 loss and I think they put it together tonight and take game three. I think they only one game in this series and it is tonight so roll with the Wolves.
NHL
Boston Bruins at Florida Panthers
Play: Under 6.5 Goals
Why?: Despite being without Patrice Bergeron, I think the Bruins bounce back, tighten things up defensively and keep the Panthers offense in check. Linus Ullmark is a game time decision. Regardless of who starts in net, there is no way Boston plays as poorly as they did at home in games one and two. Bruins bounce back and take game three on the road and they will lean on their goaltending and defense to get it done.
Edmonton Oilers at Los Angeles Kings
Play: Over 6.5 Goals
Why?: Because these two teams can score and they have hovered around the over in the first two games of the series. Edmonton has McDavid and Leon D along RNH. They have the most potent offense in the game. Neither team has good enough goaltending to shut down the other offense.
