Here are ten players you should target this week on the waiver wire in your fantasy hockey league.
1.Tristan Jarry, G, Penguins: Jarry has been terrific in the absence of Matt Murray, winning four of his seven starts. He did lose to the Rangers earlier this week at home, but Jarry will continue to start which means he’s worth adding short term.
2. Alex DeBrincat, RW, Blackhawks: DeBrincat continues to excel on the Blackhawks second line. He is a natural goal scorer who can finish. If you are looking for a depth piece in your standard league or some instant offense in DFS, pick up DeBrincat.
3. Tyler Myers, D, Jets: Myers is on pace to have his best offensive season since his rookie campaign in 2009. Myers booming slap shot makes him a scoring threat on the power play. That is why he would be a quality addition. Myers logs big minutes and plays on the man advantage. Both major pluses.
4. Brendan Gallagher, F, Canadiens: Gallagher is on pace to have a career year. He is scoring on a team that has struggled to score goals this season. Gallagher gets into the dirty areas and finishes around the net. Players like that always find their way on the score sheet.
5. Kyle Connor, F, Jets: Connor has been a nice fit on the Jets second line. He is averaging 17:53 minutes of ice time and has scored 9 goals this season. Connor has 53 shots on goal which means head coach Paul Maurice trusts him with the puck on his stick. Connor is a solid DFS play if you are looking for a cheap bottom six forward in your line up.
6. Anton Forsberg, G, Blackhawks: Up until his implosion against the Caps, Forsberg was doing a great job in between the pipes for the Hawks. I wouldn’t waste a roster spot on Forsberg in a standard league but he might be worth picking up in daily fantasy until Corey Crawford gets back.
7. Josh Anderson, RW, Blue Jackets: The rookie winger is averaging almost 18 minutes of ice time and has 10 goals on the season. Anderson has a whooping 82 shots on goal which means he is not afraid to rip it. Anderson is a terrific standard league addition as a depth forward and worth a look in DFS. Especially on a light schedule night.
8. Jonathan Marchessault, C, RW, Golden Knights: Marchessault got off to a slow start with the Knights but he has found his groove in the last two weeks. Marchessault has 13 points in his last seven games and he has become one of coach Gerard Gallant’s most trusted line options. Marchessault is a great DFS addition but I like him even better in a standard scoring league.
9. Loui Eriksson, LW, RW, Canucks: After a slow start, the veteran winger has picked it up of late. Eriksson has a goal scorers touch. He is a worthy play in DFS but I would wait until I added him in a standard.
10. Radek Faksa, C, Stars: Faksa has been one of the Stars best players of late. He is playing on the second line but is also getting top power play minutes as well. He is a +10 on the season which is tremendous from a scoring line standpoint. Faksa is a worthy play in DFS and in a standard league as a depth forward who can fill in on off days.
