Week 14 of the fantasy basketball season features the return of Chicago Bulls shooting forward Zach Lavine. Lavine, who was acquired in the Jimmy Butler trade is returning from a torn ACL that he suffered last January.
Here are some of the top players to add this week.
1. Zach Lavine, SG/SF, Bulls: Lavine is back and while he will be on a minutes restriction (20 minutes a game) he is worth adding to your roster. Lavine can play point guard, shooting guard and small forward. He is a scorer who is capable of going off and taking advantage of his minutes.
2. D’Angelo Russell, PG/SG, Nets: If Russell is available on the waiver wire in your league, grab him! Russell should be back in the next week or so. He is a top ten point guard and could be a huge addition to your team coming down the stretch.
3. Bogdan Bogdanovic, SG, Kings: Bogdanovic can shoot the lights out of the ball and he has been the Kings most consistent offensive player in the past month. If you are looking for a DFS scoring option or a a bench piece in standard leagues, Bogdanovic is worth picking up.
4. Jarrett Jack, PG, Knicks: I never thought I’d put Jack on this list but he has been a productive bench piece in Jeff Hornacek’s rotation. Jack has scored in double digits in seven of the Knicks last nine games. Jack and Michael Beasley are hot right now. Grab them in DFS while they are still producing.
5. Bismack Biyombo, PF/C, Magic: It’s hard to find quality bigs that can play productive minutes. Biyombo has finally started playing up to his potential and offers cross category value.
6. Tim Hardaway Jr, Knicks, SG/SF: Another veteran who is making the most of his minutes in the Big Apple. Since coming back from injury, Hardaway is averaging 18 points per game. Hardaway won’t be able to keep up this pace but there is no reason to think he can’t score 15-16 points a game. That would make Hardaway appealing in DFS formats.
7. Josh Jackson, SF, Suns: The rookie forward is finally starting to live up to the hype. He is playing minutes for a Suns team that’s not going anywhere. Jackson is worth paying for in DFS for now but long term, he has more value in standard leagues.
8. Tyrone Wallace, SG, Clippers: Wallace and veteran Lou Williams have carried the Clippers offensively. Wallace is a volume scorer like Williams. He can score in bunches and is worth picking up in DFS. Wallace doesn’t have long term standard appeal right now.
9. Denzel Valentine, SG/SF, Bulls: Valentine is heading back to the bench with the return of Zach Lavine. Valentine will still play 20-25 minutes a game which means he will still play enough minutes to produce offensively. Valentine still has DFS value.
10. Kyle O’Quinn, PF/C, Knicks: O’Quinn has been quietly productive this season. He is averaging 7 points and 6 rebounds per game. Those numbers don’t jump out at you but O’Quinn has cross category value and as a result is averaging 12.9 fantasy points per game. Quality bigs are hard to find. If you need one in DFS or standard leagues, consider adding O’Quinn.
