Fantasy Football: Add Em, Drop Em for Week 6

It is hard to believe that it is already week six, the half way point of the fantasy football regular season. Here is who you should add and drop for this week.

Add Em!

1. Adrian Peterson, RB, Arizona Cardinals: The trade to Arizona should breathe new life into Peterson after the debacle in New Orleans. Peterson is a shell of the back he once was but he will vulture all of the goal line carries in Arizona.

2. Jets Receivers: Both Jermaine Krause and Robby Anderson are worth adding this week because they have a great match up against a Patriots defense that can’t rush the passer and has struggled to cover the deep ball.

3. Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers: Jones carried the ball 19 times for 125 yards and a touchdown last week. Packers coach Mike McCarthy intimated earlier this week that even if Ty Montgomery comes back this week, Jones will be a big part of the running game. Jones might not score 19 points again this week but he is worth adding.

4. Carson Palmer, QB, Arizona Cardinals: Palmer has thrown for at least 325 yards in three of the Cardinals four games this season and has an enticing match up this week against a banged up Bucs defense.

5. Rams Defense: The Rams have a great match up this week in Jacksonville against Blake Bortles and the Jaguars suspect offensive line. The Rams have at least two sacks in every game this season, they have scored four defensive touchdowns and have nine turnovers. Yet somehow, they are only rostered in 50% of all fantasy football formats. It makes no sense!

Drop Em!

1. Eddie Lacy, RB, Seahawks: The Seahawks are on a bye and Lacy is no longer a back worth keeping on your roster.

2. Sammy Watkins, WR, Los Angeles Rams: Watkins was targeted four times on Sunday and didn’t have a catch. With the bye weeks upon us, don’t be afraid to drop Watkins if you need a bye week fill in. Watkins is too inconsistent to roster all season long.

3. Latavius Murray, RB, Minnesota Vikings: Murray had his chance to become “the guy” after Dalvin Cook got hurt two weeks ago but only rushed for 31 yards on 12 carries on Monday against the Bears.  With the emergence of Jerick McKinnon, it is time to move on Murray. McKinnon is the back to own in Minnesota.

4. Jack Doyle, TE, Indianapolis Colts: Dropping Doyle could be risky considering he is the only viable tight end option on the Colts roster but he is only averaging 5 points per game in PPR leagues. If you are in a ten team league, you might want to consider dropping Doyle if you have a better option on the wire.

5. Chiefs Defense: The Chiefs defense is averaging 7.4 points per game which isn’t terrible but they gave up 34 points last week to the Texans and they face the Steelers, Raiders, Broncos and Cowboys in their next four games. You might be able to stream better match up options in the coming weeks.
