I contemplated going with Red Sox, Yankees showdown line up but there are too many good players in that game. I would blow through 50K no problem.
Instead, I went with a classic line up. Here is my line up for today.
P: Mike Foltynewicz, Braves at Marlins ($9,500): Jose Quintana shut down the Marlins yesterday and I am hoping that Folty and his fastball can do the same thing tonight.
P: Caleb Smith, Marlins vs. Braves ($7,300): Smith has been very good of late and he is a cheap play tonight against the Braves. It’s a risky play but Smith has been tough to hit of late. By the way, I normally don’t pick two starters from the same game.
C: Yasmani Grandal, Dodgers vs. Reds ($3,600): The Dodgers are back home and the awful Reds are just what the doctor ordered to get them back on track. Grandal has scuffled of late but I see him bouncing in this series starting tonight.
1B: Albert Pujols, Angels vs. Twins ($3,800): Pujols is only averaging 7.4 points per game in Draft Kings. Most of that production however has come at home. Pujols is an easy play tonight against the struggling Jose Berrios.
2B: Matt Carpenter, Cardinals at Padres ($3,700): Carpenter is off to a slow start but I really like the match up against Jordan Lyles. The only draw back is Petco Park but Carpenter is a good enough hitter to overcome that. Plus, he sprays the ball all over the park so he doesn’t need to homer in order to produce.
3B: Rafael Devers, Red Sox at Yankees ($3,900): Screw it! I know it’s lefty on lefty tonight against Sabathia but there is something about Devers in New York.
SS: Jean Segura, Mariners at Blue Jays ($3,900): Segura has been hitting the cover off the ball of late and I love the match up against lefty J.A Happ.
OF: Ronald Acuna, Braves at Marlins ($4,700): The phenom is a cross category producer on a nightly basis and a must play. Especially against the Marlins.
OF: Mitch Haniger, Mariners at Blue Jays ($4,100): Haniger is one of the best bargains in DFS. He is a cheap source of power and consistent production. His plate coverage enables him to jump on a pitch over the plate by J.A Happ.
OF: A.J Pollack, D-Backs vs. Nationals ($5,200): Pollack is expensive but until he cools off at the plate, he is worth spending on. He is averaging 11.7 points per game in Draft Kings scoring.
